Stop Eclipsing Your Energy
Do you have a hard time feeling good while people you love are hurting? Empathic beings sometimes dim our own lights when those we care about are experiencing dark times. Not only does this deprive us of our natural state of joy, but it can also have an adverse effect on the very people we’re eclipsing for …
Sedona Energy Healing
Why We Eclipse
Have you ever caught yourself talking about your own challenges while talking with a loved one who is struggling - just so they don’t feel alone in their hard times? Have you refrained from sharing all the good you’d been experiencing, so as not to trigger jealousy, or gone as far as to shut down your own ability to enjoy life?
Eclipsing is a common habit amongst those who mistakenly believe that people who are hurting need sympathy and solidarity.
When we turn off our joy fountains for any reason, known or unknown, we deprive ourselves of the natural state our bodies and lives flourish in. This doesn’t serve people who are struggling. In fact, it actually does just the opposite.
Just as you can’t help someone financially by joining them in monetary challenges or help someone heal physically by getting sick with them, you can’t offer hope by commiserating.
I’ll share a powerful way you can help later in this post.
When we’re high, we help others rise!
In my last post, I shared that last autumn’s back-to-back hurricanes triggered a plethora of unprocessed emotions and stories connected with “my” hurricane - 2012’s Superstorm Sandy.
Just as I had back then, I experienced a sense of survivor’s guilt, due to how many friends, family members, and clients were struggling. I proceeded to unconsciously create a sequence of uncharacteristically subpar travel experiences.
It took a couple of weeks to realize what I was doing, and why. As I allowed the triggers to lead to healing and editing of my past, I gave myself permission to enjoy the rest of my time out west.
Revelatory Road Trip
I fueled up my rental car - an orange BMW convertible that I’d gotten an almost impossible deal on - and fueled up my heart with a tour of wonders.
My energy rose with each stop along the spontaneous path from the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, and several National Parks in Utah that had been on my radar for decades to places I’d never before heard of.
Each spot led to the next in awe-inspiring ways, thrilled my inner adventurer, hiker, and nature-lover, and blessed me with synchronicities, miracles, and stories of hope to bring back east.
I dared to leave my phone in the car for vast portions of my time at Zion National Park, a true ham of a spot that wanted its picture taken every three seconds. I haven’t been that entirely present at a place like that since cell cameras were created. It was magical.
But the photos I took earlier that morning and throughout that southwest adventure inspired the creation of this website.
Although my energy healing and life coaching clients-to-be didn’t know the backstory or the healing and hope that road trip symbolized, several revealed that they knew they were going to work with me just by looking at those photos!
The site itself would not exist if I hadn’t allowed myself to enjoy the rest of my time out west. Nor would I have filled up on the inspiration that kept me elevated for most of my ensuing seven-month tour of the disaster communities I’m connected with.
Commiserating Is Debilitating
When we codependently commiserate with others, expressing pity for them or sharing about our own lives in a negative light in solidarity, we can actually add time to their healing process.
Yep. That’s right. Add to it. Why? How?
Everything Is Energy.
And we are all connected. So, when you focus on a loved one’s suffering and dip yourself down energetically “for” them, you actually have a negative impact on their energy as well.
The world needs your loving rays more than ever, so if you have a hard time feeling and expressing joy when people you love and the world are hurting, it’s time to get that joy fountain flowing.
One of the best ways I know to help others is with a specific remote healing process that can make a huge impact on the people and animals you love and even those you don’t know. Unlike the many ways to help that can leave you feeling drained, this one can give you an energetic boost in the process.
This month, my Life Changing Resources page is devoted to learning this remote healing process from Dr. Sue Morter. It’s so healing and transformational that after experiencing it for myself many years ago, I knew I had to learn how to do it for others.
Visit the Life Changing Resources page to learn more and experience Dr. Sue’s remote healing for yourself. Her complimentary offerings this month include a guided meditation, an ebook about remote healing, an on-demand masterclass, and a 3-day challenge which begins next week.
